City of Dublin

Aquarian worked with the City of Dublin for over 8 years establishing strong relationships among educators, government agencies, and private sector businesses that proved to be beneficial to the city.  He worked on many projects including;  

  • Facilitation of multiple workshops/focus groups for educators and private sector businesses in which he identified workforce needs and issues
  • Formed an entrepreneurial program for youth that the city developed into a recreation day camp for young teens
  • Introduced a private sector business to Tolles Career Center and Columbus State Community College and helped to coordinate the development of a program that educated high school students, continue through CSCC and assure them of a position with the business both during and following their education
  • Coordinated with the Intelligent Community Forum Institute to incorporate an Immersion Lab during its annual Leadership Academy
  • Representative to the Dublin City Schools “K to Career” initiative

Project Lead The Way

Dave is on the Ohio Executive Council for Project Lead The Way.  An american not-for-profit organization that develops STEM curricula for use by U.S. elementary, middle, and high schools.

Dave is a member of the 3D digital design & Manufacturing Technology Advisory Committee at Cuyahoga Community College.  In today’s industry, the technology is called Additive Manufacturing and it’s changing the world.  The uses of Additive Manufacturing are limitless, and companies need people trained in using this new technology.

Feather River College

Dave was an integral part of the  Entrepreneurial Skills Panel, held in San Francisco, CA.  This involved educators, business representatives, and researchers who could speak to the knowledge-based economy and how to apply emerging trends within academic settings.  A Student Skills Panel, held at Feather River College sought insight from students who represent the future and transitioning workforce present in California Community Colleges. A Rural Skills Panel, held in Quincy, CA, focused on the needs of rural communities in Northern California, where there is a current transition from a goods-based economy to a digital economy.

Ashland County-West Holmes Career Center

Aquarian inspired and encouraged numerous successful innovative initiatives with the career center.   Aquarian started the Bioscience College-NOW program which led to the formation of the Bioscience Consortium of Northeast Ohio.  Millions of dollars were attracted to the region as a result of the coalition to which Aquarian provided substantial leadership and direction.  We bridged relationships between industry, economic development and education.

Dave worked closely with staff and faculty proposing cutting-edge options for entrepreneurial integration of student work into the existing and expanded curriculum.  He provided a vision for futuristic analysis, forcing the university to see what it might become in the upcoming decades.  Dave helped the university stretch well beyond the classroom and truly engage students with the world they will, ultimately, create and recreate on behalf of all of us.  Dave formed a partnership with the University of North Dakota and South Dakota State University to create entrepreneurship in the arts that was unlike any other collaborative in America.  Aquarian was critical to the forward mission for the conceptual rebuilding of Northern State University.

Aquarian facilitated the strategic planning process holding numerous focus groups that allowed various stakeholders to make clear opinions, aspirations, and concerns.  Dave assisted in launching the College-NOW Engineering Academy.  This federally funded program called for the development of partnerships with area business and industries.

State of Indiana, House of Representatives

Dave Baldwin played a vital role in the passage of the STAR bill, a blue print for the expansion of technology in Indiana, for the retention and recapture of the State’s best and brightest graduates, and for the matching of those graduates with high paying technology related enterprises that chose to locate or grow in Indiana.  The STAR program provides a continuum of learning and opportunity starting with the SMART School Partnership and its ability to entice junior high school students on to a math and science educational path.  The program continues the effort through school-to-work, internship programs and job fairs to direct graduates into competitive job opportunities in Indiana.  Dave’s testimony and hard work along side both Democrat and Republican Committee members helped make the difference in the passage of this landmark legislation.

Dave facilitated 65 school entities in Central Ohio, leading them through a decision-making process concerning a highly political software issue.  Dave collected the necessary information and data to understand the issues and stumbling blocks the group had encountered in their long process.  He understood MEC’s main objectives were to provide information to the customers and, most importantly, remain neutral in the decision-making process.  The professional efforts Aquarian provided to their customers were invaluable in the process and brought proper closure to the issue.
